Saltwater School is a vibrant community of teachers and parents dedicated to nurturing the whole child. We offer developmentally based education in which the arts permeate the curriculum. Through the practice of Waldorf education, our teachers open the students’ eyes to the world around them with ever-deepening levels of sophistication. Waldorf Education is based on the educational philosophy of the Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner.  The first Waldorf school opened in Germany in 1919.  Though many practices have evolved over time the philosophy remains strong in Waldorf schools as upheld by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA). As well, Saltwater School operates in accordance with learning outcomes set out by the Ministry of Independent School’s of BC.
